AUTHOR VISITS

A visit from an author or illustrator can be an incredibly inspiring experience for pupils and is the ideal way to promote reading for pleasure.

 

Hearing an author speak passionately about their work brings the magic of books to life in a unique and exciting way. It also shows students that authors are real – living, breathing, laughing people, consequently sowing a seed of thought: writing a book is something I could do too! Most importantly an author visit helps to reinforce that reading is FUN!

 

One More Chapter collaborates with schools in and around Nottinghamshire to foster a reading culture. We organise tailored author visits for all year groups, accommodating your preferred themes, genres, and topics.

Events typically take place as an assembly, lasting up to 1 hour, followed by a book signing. Each event varies by author, but you can always anticipate a fun, engaging, and stress-free experience!

These visits are a fantastic way to inspire a passion for reading and writing while providing young people insight into careers in the creative industries.

We facilitate author visits through book sales, so there is no direct fee for hosting an event.
